By beholding, we become changed...THE MIND ASSIMILATES TO THAT WHICH IT FEEDS UPON..The character is developed by the things which we become accustomed to dwell upon...False ideas and principles are ruinous to the mental health of those who make mental room for them.
Literally, teeming masses of people are being deceived and conditioned by what they watch on T.V. or see in the movies. By continually exposing their minds and thought life to this "entertainment", millions of people are fatally preparing their hearts to more easily reject the pure principles of the word of God on nearly every subject and especially the subject of marriage and family.
Family is the basic unit and foundation of society.

If it were not for the word of God, it would be difficult if not impossible to distinguish the truth from error. God's three angel's messages of love is the warning going forth to the world right now in the 21st century and all elevating, ennobling reforms are encompassed in these messages...
FOR INSTANCE....
And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, REVELATION 14:6
Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. REVELATION 14:7
WHERE CAN WE FIND INSTRUCTION ABOUT HOW TO FEAR GOD ?
WHERE CAN WE FIND AN EXAMPLE OF ONE WHO HAS DONE SO ?
There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. (JOB 1:1()
JOB WAS A MAN THAT FEARED GOD
BY EXAMINING THE EXPERIENCE OF JOB WE CAN BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS TO FEAR GOD
WHAT DO WE LEARN WHEN WE LOOK AT THE EXPERIENCE OF JOB ?
#1 (We learn first)
Men and women, children and youth, are measured in the scales of heaven in accordance with that which they reveal in their home life.
Just as we conduct ourselves in our home life, we are registered in the books of heaven. Whosoever would become a saint in heaven must first become a saint in their own family.
And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.
His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.
And his sons went and feasted [in their] houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters
to eat and to drink with them.
And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually. (JOB 1:2-5)
It were well for parents to learn from the man of Uz a lesson of steadfastness and devotion. Job did not neglect his duty to those outside of his household; he was benevolent, kind, thoughtful of the interest of others; and at the same time he labored earnestly for the salvation of his own family. Amid the festivities of his sons and daughters, he trembled lest his children should displease God. As a faithful priest of the household, he offered sacrifices for them individually. He knew the offensive character of sin, and the thought that his children might forget the divine claims, led him to God as an intercessor in their behalf.
To fear God means practical Christianity at home.
It means being a Christian in the family.
SOMEONE MIGHT SAY ; I DON’T HAVE A HUSBAND OR WIFE OR CHILDREN OR I AM ALONE IN MY HOUSE; GO GET YOUR BIBLE AND READ MATTHEW 12:47-50 IT TELLS YOU WHO YOUR IMMEDIATE FAMILY IS IF THERE IS NO ONE AT HOME LIVING WITH YOU.
#2 WHEN WE LOOK AT THE EXPERIENCE OF JOB WE LEARN A SECOND LESSON ABOUT HOW TO FEAR GOD
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil ? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought ? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD. (JOB 1:6-12)
Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD. And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause. And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life. So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown. (JOB 2:1-7)
FROM THESE PASSAGES WE LEARN THAT SATAN IS ULTIMATELY THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THE SUFFERING AND SORROW AND SADNESS OF THIS WORLD. SATAN’S 1ST ATTACK ON JOB BROUGHT MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL SUFFERING TO JOB. SATAN’S 2ND ATTACK BROUGHT PHYSICAL SUFFERING TO JOB. THEN JOB WAS MADE TO FEEL ALONE. THIS IS THE WAY HE ATTACKS HUMAN BEINGS TODAY.
LISTEN TO THOSE CLOSEST TO JOB - HIS WIFE AND FRIENDS
Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. (JOB 2:9)
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: (ELIPHAZ) (JOB 5:17) See also Job 22:5
If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous. (BILDAD) (JOB 8:6)
Should not the multitude of words be answered ? and should a man full of talk be justified ? (JOB 11:2)
Should thy lies make men hold their peace ? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed ? (ZOPHAR) (JOB 11:3)
JOB’S EXPERIENCE WAS SIMILAR TO THE EXPERIENCE OF JESUS IN THE GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE AND ON THE CROSS AT CALVARY. THE SUFFERINGS OF JOB AND JESUS TEACH US IMPORTANT LESSONS ABOUT THE GREAT CONTROVERSY.
BOTH JOB AND JESUS WERE ATTACKED BY SATAN.
JOB HAD 3 FRIENDS WHO WERE SUPPOSED TO COMFORT HIM
JESUS HAD PETER, JAMES & JOHN WHO WERE SUPPOSED TO COMFORT HIM
JOB’S 3 FRIENDS WERE SPIRITUALLY SLEEPING WHILE JOB SUFFERED
PETER, JAMES AND JOHN WERE LITERALLY SLEEPING WHILE CHRIST SUFFERED IN THE FINAL ANALYSIS WE SEE THAT BOTH JOB AND JESUS HAD TO STAND ALONE
WHAT IS THE 2ND THING WE LEARN ABOUT HOW TO FEAR GOD
AS WE CONTINUE TO STUDY THE EXPERIENCE OF JOB ?
#2 We must learn to stand alone and depend wholly upon God.
We can never perfect a round, full Christian experience until every earthly support is removed,
and the soul centers its entire affections about God.
Job was deprived of his worldly possessions and so afflicted in body that he was abhorred by his relatives and friends, yet he preserved his integrity and faithfulness to God. {4T 525.1}
To fear God means to be able to stand alone with God on your side when friends and family may not always be on your side. To stand in defense of truth and righteousness when the majority forsake us, to fight the battles of the Lord when champions are few
